Are Men or Women More Prone To Getting Addicted to Drugs Easily?

By James Handforth

Male members of a society are known to be more prone to getting drug-addict. It is because they may hang out with a bad group of friends and may experience peer pressure. Most males, studying in a school, tend to get in trouble more than the females. So, whenever they get mad, stressed out, or act out of control, the only way they find to deal with it is through drugs. Men, who make use of drugs, usually suffer from other severe health issues like sexually transmitted diseases, and mental health problems, like hopelessness and depression.

The men who dwell in bad companies are more prone to come across drug addicts, which eventually compel them in to addiction. When they see that most of their friends are using drugs, hype is created, which makes them use drugs. It is common tradition that it is the man who misleads another man. It is he who sells drugs and throws the other men into the ditch of addiction.

They make a lot of money by selling and distributing drugs. They also make considerable profits out of these drugs, but for that they need to know all about drugs. Most of the men adopt this as a source of earning money for keeping their families.

There are boys who belong to upper class, but when they come to higher levels of their schools, they fall prey to drugs. They adopt drug addiction just for appearing superior among their class fellows. Cocaine being a pricey drug can be purchased by rich people.

People also use it for spending time or for relieving their grief. Its use refers to the social standing of the guys. Its use is different in different people. Married people mostly use it to get away from the tensions of their marital life. Some use it for dealing with the depression of unemployment. There are others who depend on it for coping with the grief of broken relations. So, conditions are different, but the effect of the drugs is the same.

On the other hand, women are not addicted to drugs in majority of the cases. The things which tempt women are coffee, cigarettes, companionship, chocolates and food items. Therefore, bulimia and other eating disorders are more common in women. On the contrary, men are daring enough to try strange things for fun and adventure, but eventually end up harming themselves.

Perhaps, the reason behind females being bigger consumers of coffee, cigarettes, and food is that they treat those items as their addiction. When a female is emotional or depressed, she usually eats food (ice cream, chocolate, etc.), and this coping with food leads them towards gaining their weight. In order to lose weight, they start to smoke cigarettes and drink coffee so they can avoid eating too much, and can try to maintain a perfect figure.

It is also seen that drug addiction is common only in those women who have abusive relations or are in careers like prostitution. - 29881
